I would like to see a professional body with an APSC sensor, to compete with Fuiji or Canon. With the large number of lenses that exist for Sony, I think it would be a great success. Also a compact camera like the Fuji X100, (maybe FF?) or a "vintage" evolution of the A7c II series I think the design of the A7 series is totally obsolete and should evolve. Sony makes some technologically very good products but they don't make anyone fall in love with them, in my opinion... Dreaming is free!

I would love to know any updates on Sony A7V i really wanted to upgrade from my ageing A7iii. My A7iii have been a daily driver for past 5 years during those years i faced 3-4 times shutter failures for which A7iii and A7Riii are known for! So always have this fear that it would break again in any of my official projects. As it crossed 5,00,000 shutter count to this point. As it was meant to be used till 2,00,000.

A camera without Bayer Matrix. Make the Hot Mirror Filter removable. I will definitely buy it! Then its not just BW but also IR and UV. A Dream would come true.

It's fucking awesome. And I'm inclined to disagree about the "niche" factor, or that it won't be a hit. I shoot a lot of film, and the number of people still buying XPANs and constantly searching for alternatives/modifying film and digital cameras alike is high, and ALL of those people would jump at a the native format. Providing they don't price it like a GFX. Not knocking the pricing of the GFX line, but still.

Now THAT would make me buy into the Sony system. If you're listening, Sony, I own shelves full of Nikon F, Nikon Z, Canon RF, Sigma Quattro (SA Mount), Fuji GFX and X Mount systems, and Olympus Tough TG-6 and a Ricoh GRIII, and the only reason I haven't bought into your ecosystem is because I don't want to have to explain to the missus how I'm buying a half dozen lenses that are identical to what I already have but for the E Mount... But a dedicated B&W... you do that, and I'm you're Huckleberry

Wouldn’t it be cool if they shipped a full spectrum camera with drop in filters. One could be IR, another visible B&W or visible with colored filters to achieve different contrast looks like you would use back in the film days, another UV, and a few used for astro like Hydrogen alpha

The samples I have seen from B&W sensors show great high ISO images, better dynamic range and increase in resolution. These are all great features when shooting dedicated B&W sensor.

If it is priced less than $3.2k (USD), I would buy one. There is a guy in the US who converts Sony cameras to B&W. He wants $1,200. With shipping it ends up being around $1,400. A used A7RIII converted to B&W would cost about $2.4-2.6K. I rather buy a more modern camera for a little more money. There is also a Pentax guy out of Europe who converts Pentax cameras to B&W.

Doing such cameras instead of upgrading 100-400 and 200-600, is just a shot in the knee for the company. I would literally be lost in their moves if they done that first..

Every video is him saying next video, next week we will talk about the 24-70 f2, the next alpha camera, or some other relevant subject from pick X manufacturer. Then it never happens and we get pointless videos like this. Which would be a fun topic to discuss if we were actually getting genuine topics as well. It gets a bit annoying

Interesting. I would prefer a consumer class infrared (IR) like the Fuji X-T1 IR (only for licensed professional with I.D. like MD, police) for IR photography/videography usage.

Sony is not a company that fills niches, they study what's the best selling kind of product and then produce it. We won't see Sony make a crazy lens just because they can, they always make one because they know many photographers would want it.

B/W would not just be a gimmick, if you dont have red/green/blue filters and take all light in, such camera would be around 2 stops better at ISO than any colour sensor

Possibly it would make more sens to make a B&W variant of the A7CR

BW editing from color photos gives much better options for the final result.

No, nope, not even close. The best you will get is a switch like the Nikon ZF or a menu adjustment like the Fuji's or the Leica's.

Black and White Sony sensor camera would be great. I have a Pentax Monochrome and its a great way to learn how to think of pictures in B&W. The only problem with the Pentax is its not mirrorless, so the viewer is optical and you have to switch between optical and electronic.

Do you know if there are talks about an FX6ii? At my local camera store it’s always on sale for $5299 and it makes me think that this camera probably needs an update, biggest complaint being the fact that you don’t have usable audio without the audio handle

Fujifilm already has a 65x24 format built into their GFX medium format cameras. But to use it, you have to buy a very expensive camera and lens. So, if this materializes, it will need to be in line price-wise with their XT line of cameras as well as price.

If it is a cut down GFX sensor, then unless the T-X3 is significantly less expensive than a contemporary GFX camera, most reviewers would likely recommend getting the normal GFX camera and cropping in post. A pair of contemporary X-Trans sensors would be interesting to see in it. X-Trans just has a nice look, plus they could use X-Trans's hystory of being developed by looking at how film works as another selling point for a camera that calls back to Fuji's film days. I expect that it would feel better for the consumer if it was a built up (or even a bespoke) sensor, rather than a cut down sensor. On the other hand, cutting down a GFX sensor would likely be the cheaper and more practical option as far as production is concerned, lowering the final price of the camera. For me, it would be fun for IR photography if it were converted to full spectrum. That's mostly were I have become interested in wide angle and panorama. Outside of that, I don't see a use *for me*.

Your header already confirms that their naming convention is horrible. You wrote T-X3 but it would be TX-3. But in any case it is very confusing against a X-T3 etc. They put so much into camera design, but they should spend some time in marketing for better naming and of course the on screen font in always-upper-case and variable-width is both very unreadable and ugly as well. So small points, strange that they don't put some thinking in that.

I don't believe Fuji will pull this off. I'm pretty sure they have some internal discussions about it but it's still a long way to production. The same is true about Canon, Sony, Nikon and other mainstream brands. They have no business to experiment with those niche market products. More specialised niche market brands like Leica or Hasselbad or maybe Pixxi are much better suited to pull this off.

A GFX sensor divided horizontally by half? theoretically is possible and it would double the sensors per chip wafer. Sounds like a fun electronics project. Would it use GFX lenses? new ones? lets see.

I think it would be awesome -- an hopefully it has interchangeable lenses so the fantastic lenses from the original TX-1 an TX-2 can be used.

Two APS-C sensors would be awesome. More than enough resolution and might be more economical than cropping a medium format sensor. Ps I had this idea more than ago! . . .

I think it would be a good idea if they make a more budget friendly “stills” type camera other than all the movie BS in most cameras these days. For big, big sales price is important. A megapixels rich panorama shot, i think many people would go for, because at the moment you can make them in photoshop by cropping but then lose about 2/3s of you megapixels. So the camera potentially gives many megapixels BUT cropping a 3 by 4 sensor shot in photoshop is dirt cheap but megapixel poor. Plus this camera would also need to compete with two 16x9 shots sewn together in photoshop that gives pretty good megapixels too. All up, a basic camera that does 2.7x1 that doesn’t cost too much, should do well.
